Karl Rove was here: Conservative vote suppression in Guelph

Sorry friends.  I don't want to sound alarmist, let alone conspiracy-minded, but this just seems a little too easy.

Something like this is so over the top and so ... scripted ... that I can't help wondering whether it's not part of a larger plan.

Really. It's such a simple narrative, with such a cartoonishly one-dimensional bad guy, that even the corporate media can understand it. While all the focus is on this, with all the predictable sound and fury being whipped up, what other dirty business is sliding through under the radar? Isn't this the kind of thing Karl Rove and his little acolytes specialize in?

Can you say "misdirection," boys and girls?

Remember how they stole the election in Florida in 2000. Now just a few days ago in Wisconsin, a very bad smell coming out of Waukesha County after another exercise in local democracy gets derailed.

It means we need to be vigilant and watch for this kind of crap anywhere and everywhere. And every bit of devious bullshit that gets exposed may just serve to divert attention from more of it going on somewhere else. Probably nothing they'd like better than to engage us in just this sort of continuous game of Whack-A-Mole. Guess who's got more resources and expertise in co-ordinating efforts and spinning useful bullshit narratives? So guess who'd be counting on wearing us down and overwhelming us?

We've already seen how low these bastards will stoop.

  1. My wife and I are living in Hong Kong, soon to be having our 20 year old daughter visit. We are all going to the Canadian Consul to print off our Elections Canada documents and have them faxed through the C.C. and will be able to vote from here. I was surprised at how the C.C. are doing their job and making an effort to help. Count three votes for ABC. I hope Harper goes down. If not then we truly live in a stupid nation and I will be happy to stay here.
